São Gonçalo Arraiá das Tradições Brazilian folk culture solidarity economy cultural programming

The City of São Gonçalo, through its Secretariat of Tourism and Culture, has announced a series of free cultural events at the Centro de Tradições Nordestinas in Neves. The programming focuses on celebrating Brazilian popular culture through dance, music, gastronomy, and crafts.

Key highlights include the ‘Arraiá das Tradições’ taking place this Saturday, featuring performances by approximately 180 students from Espaço MuDANÇAS and the Quadrilha Balão Dourado group. Additionally, the Samba da Feira de Neves will be held every Sunday throughout August.

The initiative also includes a ‘Vila Junina da Economia Solidária’ in partnership with Fórum Ecosol SG. This component aims to support local entrepreneurs by providing space for exhibitors to sell typical food, handicrafts, and creative products, thereby strengthening the local solidarity economy.
