São Gonçalo do Amarante contract faces annulment recommendation

The Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Norte (MPRN) has recommended the immediate annulment of a R$ 1.49 million emergency contract signed by the municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante. The recommendation follows an investigation into a direct hiring process for TEC Construções e Serviços Ltda. to maintain municipal services.

Prosecutors identified several potential irregularities, including ideological falsehood, the absence of a genuine emergency situation, the production of documents with retroactive dates, and the simulation of commercial proposals. The investigation suggests that the municipality was aware of the expiring contract more than six months in advance, indicating a lack of planning that invalidates the justification for an emergency direct hire.
