São Gonçalo do Amarante launches municipal women's futsal championship

The Municipal Women's Futsal Championship has commenced in São Gonçalo do Amarante, Rio Grande do Norte. The tournament features 12 teams divided into four groups of three. Matches are scheduled for Saturdays at 7:45 PM across various sports gyms, with the competition running until December 12.

Initial results from the first round include a 2-1 victory for URV against Amarante and a 6-1 win for União JP over Carcará. The tournament offers a total prize pool of R$ 8,000, with R$ 5,000 awarded to the champion and R$ 2,500 to the runner-up. Individual prizes of R$ 250 will also be given to the top scorer and the best goalkeeper.

The event is organized by the Municipal Secretariat of Youth, Sport, and Leisure, aiming to promote female inclusion in local sports and provide a platform for regional athletes.
