São Gonçalo do Rio Abaixo and Monteiro host significant Brazilian judo competitions

Athletes from São Gonçalo do Rio Abaixo won three medals on the first day of the Minas Gerais School Games (JEMG) judo competition, securing two gold medals (Emanuelly Lino, super‑lightweight; Marcela Souza, heavyweight) and a silver (Isabelly Vitória, middle‑heavyweight). Their performance gave the municipality the state championship title in the Female Judo Module I, ahead of Timóteo and Uberlândia, after more than 50 municipalities competed.

In Paraíba, the town of Monteiro will host the second stage of the Paraibano Judo Circuit on 18 July, a first for the Cariri region. The event, organized by the state federation and backed by the municipal government, will take place at the Lourdinas school gymnasium and will feature the state's top judokas alongside local officials, including mayor Ana Paula and vice‑mayor Cajó Menezes.
