São Gonçalo do Rio Abaixo Hosts Regional Youth Parliament Working Group Meeting

On 4 August, the Câmara Municipal of São Gonçalo do Rio Abaixo, through the Isabel Rodrigues Legislative School, convened the Regional Working Group of the 2026 Minas Youth Parliament. Representatives of students, monitors and coordinators from municipalities in the Polo Médio Piracicaba gathered to review proposals drafted in municipal plenary sessions on the theme “Inclusion of People with Disabilities and Neurodivergence.” Four priority proposals for each sub‑theme were selected for voting at the upcoming Regional Plenary on 13 August, which will determine the region’s recommendations for the state‑wide stage of the program.

The meeting was attended by Câmara president Marlon Tulio Pessoa Costa, vice‑president Rafael Ferreira Neves, and councilors Diego José Ribeiro and Maria de Lourdes Guedes Barros. The Youth Parliament initiative is run by the Assembleia Legislativa de Minas Gerais in partnership with municipal chambers across the state to foster civic education and youth participation in public policy.
