São Gonçalo wildlife unit releases rescued boa constrictor
In São Gonçalo, the Wild Animal Release Area (ASAS) successfully released an adult boa constrictor, approximately two meters long, back into its natural habitat. The snake had been rescued by municipal guards in Piratininga after being found on a public road.
Following its arrival at the facility, the animal underwent clinical examinations and management protocols. Health assessments confirmed the boa was in good physical condition, showed typical behavior, and lacked injuries or signs of illness. After technical studies identified a suitable location with compatible native vegetation and essential resources, the animal was released in a partnership with the Environmental Protection Group (GPAm).
