São João de Meriti hosts community health, science, and employment initiatives

The municipality of São João de Meriti is conducting several community-focused programs throughout November. The Caravana da Ciência, held from November 3 to 5 at the Centro Cultural Meritiense, offers interactive scientific experiments, a planetarium, and free health services, including vaccinations and cervical cancer screenings.

Additionally, the city is hosting a job fair throughout November at the Casa do Trabalhador Meritiense. The initiative connects residents with various companies, distributing 300 service tokens daily to facilitate recruitment processes.

In a separate health initiative, the Municipal Health Secretariat recently held a lecture at the Centro Cultural Meritiense to raise awareness about sickle cell disease. The event focused on the importance of early diagnosis, continuous treatment, and the rights of patients living with this genetic condition.
