São José de Ribamar public exams suspended by court order

A court has ordered the temporary suspension of public service entrance exams in the municipality of São José de Ribamar, Maranhão. The decision, issued by Judge Douglas de Melo Martins of the Vara de Interesses Difusos e Coletivos of the Comarca da Ilha de São Luís, affects three specific processes governed by notices nº 001/2026, nº 002/2026, and nº 003/2026.

The suspension follows a legal action brought by the Maranhão Public Prosecutor's Office (MPMA) to investigate alleged irregularities in the selection processes organized by the Instituto Social da Cidadania Juscelino Kubitschek (IJK). Reported issues include unsealed answer sheets with printed markings, discrepancies in the number of exam booklets delivered, failures in metal detector inspections, and candidates leaving with exam booklets.

The judicial order halts all subsequent stages, including physical aptitude tests, title evaluations, and appointments. The judge emphasized that the suspension is a preventive measure to preserve all physical and digital evidence, such as answer cards and databases, and does not constitute a permanent cancellation. If investigations confirm the regularity of the exams, the suspension may be revoked.
