São José dos Pinhais man killed by falling truck cargo

A 67-year-old retiree died on Saturday morning in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná, after being struck by a piece of cargo that fell from a truck. The incident occurred on Rua Antônio Singer in the Campo Largo da Roseira neighborhood.

The victim was reportedly performing routine walks recommended by doctors following a recent surgery when the accident happened. Emergency responders from the Integrated Trauma Emergency Service (Siate) attempted to resuscitate the man for approximately 50 minutes, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Military Police isolated the area for investigation. The truck driver was taken to a police station to provide a statement, and authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the event.
