São José to host Brazilian Junior Judo Championship

The city of São José is set to host the Brazilian Junior Judo Championship at the Arena Multiuso from the 26th to the 30th of this month. Organized by the Confederação Brasileira de Judô (CBJ), the event is expected to draw over 600 athletes, coaches, and officials from all state federations.

The competition serves as a critical platform for athletes aged 15 to 20, contributing to the rankings that will form the basis for future Olympic cycles. Local athlete Gustavo Nienchotter, a recipient of the municipal Bolsa Atleta program, is among the featured competitors.

Beyond the sporting implications, the championship is expected to provide an economic boost to the region, with the local hotel sector reporting full occupancy for the duration of the event.
