São Lourenço da Mata public gym site site of group brawl

A physical altercation involving two groups occurred on Sunday night at a public gym, the Academia das Cidades, in the Capibaribe neighborhood of São Lourenço da Mata, Pernambuco. The facility was undergoing renovations and had not yet been officially inaugurated.

Videos circulating on social media show participants exchanging punches and kicks. The Military Police of Pernambuco (PMPE) responded to the call but found that the individuals involved had already left the scene. No suspects have been located following local investigations.

Mayor Vinicius Labanca described the incident as “inadmissible” and announced that security measures would be reinforced. He stated that the facility will soon be delivered to the population with monitoring and security provided by the municipality, noting that the PMPE has assured more effective policing in the region.
