São Ludgero establishes education forum and hosts 9th city soccer tournament

On 21 July 2026, São Ludgero’s municipal education department held the inaugural meeting of the Municipal Education Forum (FME) and inaugurated the Commission that will draft the city’s Decennial Education Plan for 2026‑2036. The forum gathers representatives from 21 community sectors to monitor and guide public‑school policies. “The construction of inclusive, quality public education is only possible with continuous dialogue between government and civil society,” said Education Secretary Valneide Pereira Covre.

From 24‑27 July, the city also ran the 9th Copa Cidade São Ludgero, a youth football tournament featuring more than 2,000 athletes from Brazil and abroad across 50 teams. Mayor Paulo Sérgio Lorenzetti highlighted the event’s impact on local economy and youth development, stating, “Investing in sport is investing in the future and quality of life of our children and young people.” The matches were free to the public and aimed to strengthen community ties and promote health through sport.
