São Luís celebrates 414 years with heritage highlights and pop concerts
The city of São Luís is celebrating its 414th anniversary with a focus on its rich cultural and historical identity. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997, the city's Historic Center is noted for its unique urban layout and Portuguese colonial architecture, which was adapted to the equatorial climate. A defining feature of the landscape is the use of decorative tiles on the facades of many historic buildings.
As part of the anniversary festivities, the 'Cidade da Alegria' event will host a night dedicated to Brazilian pop music. The lineup includes prominent artists Iza, Pabllo Vittar, and Luísa Sonza, who will perform hits from their respective careers at the venue located near the Praia Grande Terminal.
