São Mateus do Sul implements paving works to improve health
Paving projects are currently underway in several neighborhoods of São Mateus do Sul, divided into four distinct lots. These infrastructure improvements aim to enhance urban mobility and cleanliness while significantly reducing the circulation of airborne dust.
According to data from the State Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Higher Education (Seti), paving unpaved roads can lead to substantial public health benefits. Estimates suggest that reducing dust exposure could save approximately R$ 21 million by decreasing respiratory-related medical visits and work absences. Calculations indicate that a single vehicle traveling one kilometer on an unpaved road can generate roughly 823.15 grams of suspended dust.
