São Mateus do Sul investigates alleged irregular waste disposal

Authorities in São Mateus do Sul are investigating allegations regarding the irregular disposal of beverages and dead animals at the Divisa cemetery. A complaint submitted to the Municipal Secretariat of the Environment included details of a vehicle, such as its license plate, allegedly involved in the incident.

The Municipal Secretariat of the Environment clarified that the Divisa cemetery is managed by a community association rather than directly by the City Hall. The Secretariat stated that identifying the vehicle owner and investigating potential involvement is the responsibility of police authorities. The agency has advised the responsible association to file an official police report to facilitate a formal investigation.
