São Paulo and Palmeiras target River Plate players in Brazil transfer window

São Paulo Futebol Clube is monitoring the possible sale of Argentine midfielder Giuliano Galoppo, who is on River Plate’s roster. São Paulo retained 50 % of Galoppo’s economic rights from a deal that will run until the end of 2025, meaning any future transfer fee paid to River Plate will be split with the Brazilian club. The club’s budget foresees R$ 180 million in player sales for 2026, having already completed deals for Rodiguinho and Erick.

Palmeiras is in advanced talks to re‑sign midfielder Danilo from Botafogo, with reported fees that could exceed €30 million (€35‑40 million in cash, roughly R$ 230 million). The club also received an offer for 19‑year‑old Argentine prospect Ian Subiabre of River Plate, who was linked to a Saudi deal but may stay in South America. Both clubs see the River Plate connection as a source of valuable talent and potential revenue during the upcoming transfer window.
