São Paulo and Pará junior tennis teams compete at Copa das Federações in Uberlândia
The Federação Paraense de Tênis and the Federação Paulista de Tênis have arrived in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, to take part in the Copa das Federações Infantojuvenil 2026. The tournament runs from July 20 to 25, with a technical congress and draw on the opening day and matches in the 12, 14, 16 and 18‑year categories for both boys and girls.
São Paulo, the defending champion, fields 32 athletes and seeks its 17th title after previously winning in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2022, 2024 and 2025. The state federation highlighted its full support staff, custom uniforms and the pride of representing a historically dominant program.
Pará’s delegation sees the event as a milestone for the sport’s growth in the state. Federation president Celestino Rocha emphasized that participation offers young athletes high‑level experience and illustrates the continued investment in grassroots tennis. Both delegations aim to develop talent and secure team victories in this premier national junior competition.
