São Paulo City Council honors Metropolitan Civil Guard members

The São Paulo City Council presented the Jânio Quadros Medal and Diploma to 90 individuals, including Metropolitan Civil Guard (GCM) members and various civilian and military personalities. The award recognizes those who have distinguished themselves through actions benefiting the population of São Paulo.

The ceremony, presided over by Councilor Edir Sales, highlighted the historical significance of the medal, which is named after former mayor Jânio Quadros, the founder of the GCM in 1986. The event also served as a precursor to the upcoming 40th anniversary of the GCM in September 2026.
