São Paulo Civil Police enables online domestic violence reporting
The Civil Police of the State of São Paulo has enabled the online registration of domestic violence reports through the ‘Delegacia Digital’ portal. This digital tool allows victims to report aggressions or threats remotely, reducing barriers such as fear of retaliation or difficulty in traveling to a physical police station.
To use the service, victims must register on the portal, select the domestic violence category, and complete a detailed form including the date, time, location, circumstances, and information regarding the aggressor or witnesses. Once submitted, the report undergoes technical analysis and is forwarded to the relevant territorial police station for investigation.
Authorities emphasize that while the online report is official, it does not replace emergency services. For immediate threats, the Military Police should be contacted via 190. Serious crimes such as homicide or rape still require in-person attendance at a Women's Defense Police Station or a police precinct.
