São Paulo daycare under investigation after cameras found in bathrooms

A mother discovered cameras installed inside the bathroom area of the CEI Vereador André Nunes daycare center in the northern zone of São Paulo. The facility is managed by a civil society organization in partnership with the São Paulo City Hall.

Letícia Cantarelli, 33, reported that the cameras were directed toward the shower area and the space used for changing clothes and diapers. Upon questioning the director, the mother was told the equipment was installed by the maintaining organization for security purposes.

The parents have filed a police report with the Civil Police at the 9th Police District (Carandiru), investigating the incident as a suspected case of subjecting a child or adolescent to embarrassment.
