São Paulo Detran announces August vehicle auction and licensing deadline

The São Paulo Traffic Department (Detran‑SP) will hold a public auction of 635 vehicle lots in the Ribeirão Preto region, covering cars and motorcycles seized for traffic violations. The auction, scheduled to begin on 24 August, includes 136 operable vehicles, 329 lots of recyclable scrap and 170 lots destined for melting. Bids start at R$ 990 for motorcycles and R$ 2 520 for cars, with pre‑view sessions from 10‑14 August.

In the same month, Detran‑SP opened the mandatory licensing period for passenger vehicles, utility vehicles, buses and trailers whose license plates end in 3 or 4. Owners must pay the R$ 174.08 fee and obtain the digital CRLV‑e by 31 August. Late payment incurs a severe infraction, a 7‑point penalty, a R$ 293.47 fine and possible vehicle impoundment. Payments can be made online via banking apps, Pix or ATMs, and the updated document is downloadable through the official app or portal.
