São Paulo earmarks R$ 90 million for audiovisual, games and creative industries

The São Paulo state government announced an allocation of R$ 90 million to support the cultural sector. The funding will be delivered through a series of editals to be published on 10 March, covering four audiovisual streams – feature‑film production or co‑production, low‑budget TV films, street‑cinema modules and literary‑work adaptations – as well as initiatives for electronic‑game development, heritage‑site architecture projects, and fashion and product‑design programmes.

The plan also includes editals for festivals, exhibitions and other events in municipalities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants, aiming to bolster cultural activity where local administrations lack resources. The announcement was made by Marilia Marton, Secretary of Culture, Economy and Creative Industries, who noted that the ProAC cultural‑action programme is marking its 20th anniversary in 2026.
