São Paulo expands digital visitor registration for all state prisons
The São Paulo Penal Police (PPESP), under the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (SAP), has expanded the use of the digital platform ConectaPP to all 180 prison units across the state of São Paulo.
The tool allows family members and interested parties to complete procedures related to the visitor registry online. By using the official Gov.br account, visitors can upload required documentation directly to the platform and track the progress of their requests in real time via computer or mobile devices.
Developed by the Coordination of Information Technology and Systems (CTIS), the initiative aims to increase transparency, efficiency, and convenience while reducing the need for in-person travel to correctional facilities. The platform underwent pilot testing starting in May 2026 at locations including the Americana Detention Center, the Capital Penitentiary, and the Sant’Ana Women's Penitentiary before its statewide rollout.
