São Paulo expands housing access via Casa Paulista and municipal programs

Housing initiatives in the state of São Paulo are expanding access to homeownership through new credit and registration updates.

The Government of São Paulo, via the Secretariat of Urban Development and Housing, has announced a new phase of the Casa Paulista program. The initiative will provide Individual Real Estate Credit Letters (CCI) for 10,000 housing units across 50 municipalities, including the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, Campinas, and Sorocaba. With an investment exceeding R$ 132.7 million in state subsidies, the program offers between R$ 10,000 and R$ 16,000 per unit for families earning up to three minimum wages who do not currently own property. Financing is managed by Caixa Econômica Federal using FGTS resources.

In Várzea Paulista, the municipal government released a preliminary list of 4,060 residents eligible to participate in the Municipal Housing Program (PMH) under the Minha Casa Minha Vida - Faixa 2 framework. This follows a data consolidation process of 6,178 unique applications. Residents can file administrative appeals regarding the preliminary classification until the 8th at the Municipal Management Unit of Urbanism and Housing (UGMUH).
