São Paulo FC faces political crisis ahead of presidential elections

São Paulo FC is experiencing significant political instability ahead of its upcoming presidential elections. President Harry Massis Júnior is reportedly losing support within his own coalition due to a centralized management style, financial difficulties, and frequent coaching changes, having gone through three managers in five months.

Internal tensions have intensified between Massis and the President of the Deliberative Council, Olten Ayres. A major point of contention is a proposed contract with Ticketmaster for ticket administration at Morumbis, which involves a R$ 140 million advance intended to settle player debts. Ayres has refused to put the contract to a vote, leading to the creation of a commission to analyze the deal following challenges from a competitor.

The relationship between the two leaders has been marked by ongoing conflict since Massis took office in January. Previous disputes include allegations regarding illegal ticket sales and investigations into potential administrative misconduct and document falsification, which were referred to the Civil Police.
