São Paulo FC faces squad challenges with player impasse and injury
São Paulo FC is facing squad management challenges following the close of the transfer window and a significant injury. Left-back Enzo Díaz remains with the club until December 2028 despite being outside of manager Dorival Júnior’s plans. Negotiations for a transfer or contract rescission failed, as Díaz reportedly prefers to seek opportunities outside of South America rather than joining an Argentine club.
Additionally, the team must address a defensive void after center-back Domingos Duarte suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, ending his season. To maintain the team's three-defender tactical system, Dorival Júnior is considering options including Rafael Toloi, Sabino, and Osorio to fill the vacancy left by the Portuguese defender.
