São Paulo FC prepares for Santos derby amid injury updates

São Paulo FC is intensifying its preparations for the upcoming San-São derby against Santos, scheduled for Friday at Morumbis. Under coach Dorival Júnior, the squad has seen mixed news regarding player availability.

Midfielder Bobadilla has returned to full training following recovery from a right knee medial collateral ligament issue and is expected to be available for the match. Midfielder Newton is also progressing in his recovery from a right thigh injury, participating in partial training and physical transition exercises.

However, the team faces several absences. Lucas Moura remains in physical transition following Achilles tendon surgery, and striker Calleri is suspended due to yellow cards. Other confirmed absences include Nicolas, Buta, and Domingos Duarte. Additionally, young midfielder Djhordney will miss the match as he remains with the Brazil U-20 national team in Spain following a decision by the CBF to deny an early release request.

On a positive note, Pablo Maia and Osório are expected to return to the lineup after serving suspensions.
