São Paulo FC turns down Udinese’s €10 million bid for defender Luis Osório
São Paulo Futebol Clube refused a €10 million (about R$58 million) offer from Italy’s Udinese for 19‑year‑old centre‑back Luis Osório. The club said it was not the right moment to negotiate, believing the youngster’s market value could rise further with more playing time. Osório had recently impressed in a 1‑1 draw with Flamengo at the Maracanã, providing an assist and showing solid defensive work.
Club officials, including president Harry Massis, highlighted ongoing financial pressures, noting a transfer‑ban caused by delayed payments and a target of R$180 million in revenue this year. While the Udinese proposal was rejected, São Paulo remains open to future offers, especially as it seeks to sell other assets to balance the books.
