São Paulo gas cylinder explosion condemns 13 homes

A gas cylinder explosion in the Jaraguá neighborhood of northern São Paulo has resulted in the preventive condemnation of 13 properties. The incident occurred around 4:00 AM on Sunday, causing significant structural damage to the primary residence and placing 12 neighboring homes at risk.

Three people were injured in the blast. One victim required hospitalization at Hospital Penteado, while two others received assistance from local residents and declined further medical treatment. Authorities, including the Municipal and State Civil Defense, have been monitoring the site to assess structural integrity.

The Fire Department deployed 11 vehicles to manage the emergency, and the Civil Police have initiated a forensic investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion. To support those displaced, the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance has registered 18 families for rental assistance programs, while 32 other families are currently staying with relatives.
