São Paulo government proposes record R$ 411.2 billion budget for 2027

The Government of São Paulo has submitted its Annual Budget Law (LOA) project for the 2027 fiscal year to the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo (Alesp). The proposal outlines a record budget of R$ 411.2 billion, representing a real increase of 7.56% compared to the 2026 projection of R$ 382.3 billion.

The budget prioritizes social welfare, specifically health, education, and public security. The health sector is slated to receive R$ 39.6 billion, with funds directed toward modernizing hospital infrastructure and decentralizing specialized care. Key projects include new medical units in Itapetininga, Campinas, and Birigui, as well as a new emergency building for the Hospital das Clínicas in Ribeirão Preto.

Additionally, R$ 5.6 billion has been allocated to strengthen the ‘Tabela SUS Paulista’ program. This initiative provides state funding to complement federal payments to philanthropic entities and Santa Casas, ensuring the financial sustainability of complex medical procedures and outpatient care.
