São Paulo gynecologist indicted for alleged patient rape

A gynecologist in São Paulo, Osmar Trojan, 82, has been indicted for the alleged rape of a 27-year-old patient. The investigation follows reports from Esther Neves, who claims the abuse occurred during medical consultations at a private clinic in the Brooklin neighborhood between 2014 and 2022.

Neves alleges that during these appointments, Trojan performed examinations without gloves, took intimate photographs, and displayed pornographic videos. She further reported that the physician engaged in inappropriate physical contact under the guise of medical procedures. The case is currently being investigated by the police and the Regional Medical Council. Trojan’s defense has denied the accusations, citing the presumption of innocence.
