São Paulo health units implement equipment upgrades and new security measures

Public health units in the state of São Paulo are implementing upgrades to equipment and security. In Bragança Paulista, the Bom Jesus and Vila Davi Emergency Care Units (UPAs) have received 29 new pieces of high-tech medical equipment. This modernization, a partnership between the Municipal Health Secretariat and the Santa Casa de Misericórdia Hospital Complex, includes cardioverters, defibrillators, pulmonary ventilators, multiparametric monitors, and pulse oximeters to improve life support and triage capabilities.

In Santo André, the municipal government announced plans to install internal monitoring cameras across its six emergency care units. This decision follows an incident at the Vila Luzita UPA where a nurse was subjected to verbal and physical aggression by a public employee and his partner. The Health Secretary, Diego Cabral, stated that while previous cameras were focused on external equipment security, the new measures will provide internal coverage to ensure the protection of staff and patients.
