São Paulo International Book Biennial hosts diverse literary programming
The 28th São Paulo International Book Biennial is currently underway at Distrito Anhembi, featuring a diverse program of literature, music, and author meetings. Recent highlights included appearances by authors such as Alice Oseman, Thalita Rebouças, and Pedro Bandeira, alongside discussions regarding the growth of erotic romance.
At the event, authors are using the platform to address social issues. For instance, members of the Coletivo Caiás are working to integrate ethnic-racial relations into literature to provide positive representation for Black children. Additionally, writer Fernanda Pompeu is participating in the biennial with signing sessions for her new book, ‘Cá Camila ou uma invenção de Alegria’, which explores themes of identity, memory, and fantasy through a global journey.
