São Paulo jazz clubs and nightlife venues attract locals and tourists

A recent guide highlighted São Paulo’s most prominent jazz and blues venues, including the Blue Note on Avenida Paulista, which was opened by former Sony executive Luiz Calainho. The Blue Note brand, originating in the United States, has expanded to several countries and now offers an intimate setting for American‑style jazz in Brazil.

In addition to the jazz scene, the city’s nightlife offers a wide range of options. Classic spots such as Bar Brahma in Centro host traditional Sunday samba, while Lions Nightclub in Jardins runs the city’s longest‑running gay Sunday party with pop and drag shows. Other venues like Jazz nos Fundos in Pinheiros provide underground jazz jam sessions for a more intimate audience.
