São Paulo launches digital lottery Dá Sorte

The state of São Paulo introduced a new digital lottery called Dá Sorte on 1 July, accessible through the website dasorteloteria.bet and an Android‑only app. The platform offers online games that resemble slot machines and roulette, classified by the state regulator Arsesp as instant‑scratch tickets.

Dá Sorte is operated by Consórcio SP Loterias, a partnership of U.S. betting firms Scientific Games and Brightstar Lottery (the latter linked to IGT). The consortium paid R$560 million for a 15‑year contract and expects to generate about R$3.4 billion in revenue for the state, with a 35 % tax on net earnings. Governor Tarcísio de Freitas highlighted the projected earnings, while Arsesp director‑general Diego Rodrigues called the partnership “transparent and responsible.”

Players must be at least 18, register with facial‑recognition verification, and can fund bets and withdrawals via Pix. The licence provides for 31 exclusive points and the resale of the games in thousands of retail locations across São Paulo, with similar physical machines already operating in other Brazilian states.
