The São Paulo Metro has implemented contactless payment acceptance across all its stations. This update applies to the Blue, Green, Red, and Silver lines, allowing passengers to pay by tapping credit/debit cards or mobile devices at turnstiles.

The system utilizes EMV technology (Europay, MasterCard, and Visa), which employs encryption and chip-based authentication to secure transactions and reduce fraud. The measure aims to modernize the transit system by increasing boarding speed and improving accessibility for users.
