São Paulo Military Police opens recruitment for 2,000 soldier positions in 2026

The Polícia Militar do Estado de São Paulo (PM‑SP) released an official notice for a 2026 public tender offering 2,000 vacancies for the rank of soldier (soldado de 2ª classe). Applicants must hold a complete high‑school diploma, be aged 17 to 30, possess a driver's licence (category B or E) and meet minimum height requirements (1.55 m for women, 1.60 m for men). The initial salary is R$ 5,482.51.

Registrations open on 15 June and close on 21 August 2026 through the Fundação Vunesp website, with a R$ 100 fee. Fee exemptions are granted to regular blood donors and low‑income students, while a 50 % discount applies to qualified candidates. The written exam is scheduled for 20 September, featuring multiple‑choice questions in Portuguese, mathematics, general knowledge, basic IT and public administration, plus an essay. Successful candidates will face physical‑fitness tests, medical and psychological examinations, and a social‑conduct investigation.

The written phase will be held in a decentralized manner across numerous Brazilian capitals, including Goiânia, Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, Cuiabá and Manaus.
