São Paulo Ministry of Public backs prosecutor after courtroom insults and opposes influencer's house arrest
The São Paulo Ministry of Public (MP-SP) issued a public statement supporting prosecutor Rodrigo Merli Antunes, who faced numerous insults from defense lawyers during a jury trial in Guarulhos. The association highlighted Antunes' 23 years of service and affirmed no misconduct in his contact with an official expert.
In a separate matter, MP-SP prosecutors rejected a request to replace preventive detention with house arrest for influencer Deolane Bezerra. The office argued that the women's prison in Tupi Paulista meets legal standards and that there are no grounds to change her custody conditions, leaving the decision to the São Paulo Court of Justice.
