São Paulo municipalities advance land regularization programs

Municipalities in the state of São Paulo are advancing land regularization initiatives to provide legal security to residents. In Guaratinguetá, the local government delivered 461 property titles to residents of the Jardim do Vale Parte Alta neighborhood through the Cidade Legal Program, in partnership with the São Paulo State Government.

Of the documents distributed, 384 fall under Social Interest Land Regularization (Reurb-S), targeting low-income populations, while 77 fall under Specific Interest Land Regularization (Reurb-E). This process formalizes property ownership, aiding urban planning and increasing property values.

In São Bernardo do Campo, the Capivari I nucleus in the Pós-Balsa area has officially entered the regularization process via the ‘Aqui é Meu Lugar’ municipal program. Residents have begun electing representatives to work alongside the Housing Secretariat (Sehab) to manage surveys, family registration, and project development for the area, which has been inhabited for approximately 26 years.
