São Paulo municipalities launch racial equality initiatives
Municipalities in the state of São Paulo are launching initiatives to promote racial equality. In Indaiatuba, the Coordenadoria de Políticas para a População Negra and the Division of Human Rights Education will host a Racial Literacy Training session on October 28 at the Indaiatuba City Hall Auditorium. The program aims to increase awareness, strengthen practices to combat racism and discrimination, and encourage non-violent communication.
Meanwhile, the city of Guarulhos has begun organizing its 'Black November 2026' agenda. The Subsecretaria da Igualdade Racial is inviting social movements, universities, companies, and cultural groups to submit activities for the month-long program. The agenda will feature diverse formats, including lectures, educational campaigns, and cultural presentations focused on Afro-Brazilian history, anti-racist education, and human rights.
