São Paulo Open to host elite Brazilian boxers this month

The São Paulo Open boxing competition is scheduled to take place from September 21 to 26 at the CER Edson Arantes do Nascimento (Pelezão) in São Paulo. The event will feature elite category athletes representing 13 Brazilian states, including Bahia, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Pernambuco, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Sergipe, and São Paulo.

In addition to the medals, the tournament results contribute to the National Ranking. Dr. Marcos Brito, President of the Brazilian Boxing Confederation, noted that performance in the Open can serve as a reference for obtaining the ‘Bolsa Atleta’ benefit and helps demonstrate continued athletic practice for current recipients. The competition serves as a platform for athlete development and a way to identify new talent for the Brazilian national team.
