São Paulo Police announces 2,000 new soldier positions

The São Paulo state government published a public notice on 3 June calling for applications to fill 2,000 soldier vacancies in the Military Police. Applications are open from 15 June to 21 August on the Vunesp website, with a registration fee of R$ 100 and possible exemptions for blood donors, low‑income students or the unemployed.

Candidates must be 17‑30 years old, meet minimum height requirements (1.55 m for women, 1.60 m for men), hold a complete secondary education, be up‑to‑date with electoral and military obligations and pass five selection stages: knowledge test, physical fitness exam, psychological assessment, social investigation and document analysis. The initial salary is R$ 5,482.51. The recruitment is part of a broader security‑strengthening program that aims to add 26,000 new police officers during the current administration.

In parallel, the state continues recruiting 200 officer‑cadet candidates, with applications open until 15 July and an initial cadet salary of R$ 5,460.65. The selection exams will be held in 51 municipalities across the state and other regions of Brazil.
