São Paulo police arrest four fugitives in Araras

On Monday, March 13, the 36th Battalion of the São Paulo Military Police conducted a coordinated operation in Araras, a city in the state’s interior, resulting in the capture of four individuals with outstanding arrest or detention warrants. The arrests took place in three neighborhoods between 17:20 and 20:00. One adult was seized for a pending torture charge, another for theft, a third for bodily injury, and a teenager was taken into custody pursuant to a detention order. Police used patrol intelligence and body‑scanner checks to identify the suspects, and each detainee was transferred to the Central Police Judicial Office for processing. The rapid succession of arrests was highlighted by local authorities as evidence of the Police’s preventive patrolling strategy and its capacity to swiftly remove individuals deemed a threat to public safety.
