Brazil: Police conduct multiple operations against crime and drug trafficking

Law enforcement agencies across Brazil have conducted several operations targeting various criminal activities. In São Paulo, a Civil Police operation in Vila Leopoldina against a gang specializing in residential thefts resulted in a shootout, leaving one suspect dead and two others arrested. Additionally, six individuals were detained near the Barra Funda Bus Terminal for allegedly extorting passengers by posing as ride-hailing drivers and demanding excessive fees.

In Paraná, authorities intercepted a shipment of 120 tirzepatide ampoules, a medication used for diabetes and weight loss, hidden in a vehicle spare tire. The cargo, originating from Paraguay, lacked proper sanitary and fiscal documentation. Other arrests in the state included a man in Apucarana linked to an attempted homicide and a suspect in Curitiba caught attempting to hide drugs in his clothing.

Drug trafficking remains a major focus of police activity. In Tapurah, two adolescents associated with a criminal faction were apprehended with over 600 portions of cocaine, marijuana, and cocaine paste. In Pará, the Civil Police incinerated approximately 130 kilograms of drugs seized in recent operations in the Carajás region. Other notable seizures occurred in Balneário Camboriú and Paranavaí, involving various narcotics and counterfeit currency.
