Brazil police dismantle 4‑story fraud hub in Guarulhos, arrest 22
Police civil investigators in São Paulo uncovered a four‑story fraud centre in central Guarulhos, part of the Greater São Paulo area. The building, three floors of which were devoted to scams, was used to run fake‑lawyer, fake‑bank‑manager and usurious‑loan schemes that targeted victims with false legal and financial services.
During a raid on 28 July, officers seized 25 cell phones, eight notebooks, numerous documents, a large stock of telephone chips and four motorcycles. The operation also captured two senior figures who directed the ring, while the suspects attempted to destroy evidence by damaging two notebooks and three phones on site. In total, 22 individuals – 14 men and eight women – were arrested in flagrante. The police noted that the premises were equipped with internal and external surveillance cameras, underscoring the organized nature of the criminal enterprise.
