In a separate case, an 18‑year‑old thief stole a Toyota Hilux in Rio Claro and fled nearly 100 km along the Anhanguera highway. During the chase the suspect struck and killed an elderly woman in Jundiai’s Fazenda Grande neighborhood. The vehicle was later recovered, and the police are probing possible accomplices in the theft.
