Brazil's PCC charged with spying on prosecutor and prison coordinator
The Special Action Group against Organized Crime (GAECO) of the São Paulo Public Ministry announced the indictment of four men—Victor Hugo da Silva, Wellison Rodrigo Bispo de Almeida, Sérgio Garcia da Silva and Adilson Audinir Oliveira Junior—for systematic surveillance of prosecutor Lincoln Gakiya and prison‑coordinator Roberto Medina. The suspects gathered addresses, routes, vehicle plates, photographs and videos of the officials and relayed the data to the PCC’s “Sintonia Restrita” sector, which coordinates strategic attacks. Prosecutors have asked for preventive detention of Victor Hugo and Adilson, who remain fugitives. The investigation, stemming from handwritten death‑threat orders identified in 2018, notes that the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) counts about 40 000 members in Brazil and operates in 28 other countries. Surveillance was carried out in the municipalities of Presidente Prudente and Presidente Venceslau, São Paulo state.
