São Paulo rainfall triggers landslide risk on Line 9-Emerald

Heavy rainfall in São Paulo has created a landslide risk near the Line 9-Emerald railway tracks in the Interlagos area. The situation has forced ViaMobilidade to increase intervals between trains, particularly on the stretch between Autódromo and Varginha stations.

As a preventive measure, the Primavera-Interlagos station has restricted passenger boarding and disembarking to a single platform. Civil Defense has been called to inspect the terrain. To mitigate delays, the operator has implemented a looping service between Osasco and Jurubatuba-Senac to maintain shorter intervals in high-traffic areas.

Additionally, Line 5-Lilás experienced earlier instability due to track equipment failure in the Campo Limpo region, though operations have since returned to scheduled intervals.
