São Paulo rolls out 2026 vehicle licensing calendar as classic car registrations surge 56%

In July 2026 the State of São Paulo began the official vehicle licensing calendar for the year, with deadlines extending to December and fees set at R$ 174.08. The process is fully digital and can be completed via the Detran‑SP portal or the Poupatempo Digital app, with the registration certificate available instantly after payment.

During the first half of 2026, registrations of classic cars in São Paulo jumped 56% compared with the same period in 2025. Detran‑SP issued more than 7,500 pre‑authorizations, bringing the fleet of collectible vehicles to 82,005 units. A dedicated digital page launched in February 2026 streamlines the issuance of historical certificates, black‑plate permits and other required documentation, charging a R$ 469.91 fee for the complete registration package.
