São Paulo State authorizes hiring of 466 lifeguards for summer season
The Government of São Paulo has authorized the hiring of 466 temporary lifeguards to reinforce safety during the 2026/2027 summer season. The professionals will operate at beaches, reservoirs, and other bathing areas during the peak period between November 2026 and March 2027.
In Ubatuba, the State Fire Department is conducting a selection process for 35 temporary lifeguards (GVTD) to work alongside municipal teams and the Maritime Firefighters Group (GBMar). These state-contracted professionals will receive approximately R$ 2,534 per month, plus transportation and food vouchers. Candidates must be at least 18 years old with a completed elementary education and must pass physical tests, including a 200-meter swim and a 1,000-meter sand run.
The selection process for the state-wide positions will be managed by the Military Police through a simplified selection process.
